Too often I have seen good music spoilt by a lack of attention to detail at the editing stage. Not so with this publication. As soon as one picks up the book it is clear that at no point has quality been compromised.
The softer tones here, quite simply, make the music easier to read. There is no doubt that these books are lovingly produced, and when I contacted her, Barbara confirmed that the process of correcting goes through countless phases, and that the books are always given to someone not connected to the publishing house for independent appraisal of fingering, etc.
There is an argument which I have often made for only including fingering where hand position changes and so on require it. However, Barbara has a good rationale for including more exhaustive fingering:.

Given that I suspect teenagers and adults will be a primary market for the book, and that self-motivated learning at home is aided by the inclusion of plenty of fingering support, this seems to me a well argued point.
