You can also download Button Savior on the web if you cannot download it via the Play Store. After installation, open Button Savior. You may have to enable debugging mode; follow this guide. If you are an Android user, you may have experienced or you are encountering this issue — downloading… do not turn off target. This is an error message that often happens on Samsung and some Nexus devices.
Most users reported the device unexpectedly rebooted into a screen with the error. The issue happens mainly because you press the wrong button combinations to access the recovery mode of your phone. But if you press Volume Down instead of Volume Up, the phone will enter the download mode instead of recovery mode and you see the error message.
Well then, how can you fix this error? Select Yes, delete user data. After the the deletion process completes, back out to the main menu, scroll down to Wipe Cache Partition and select it. Back out to the main menu and select Reboot system now, and it should boot properly. Note: you will have to set the phone up again.
I do not want to factory reset the phone or anything, just power it back up normally. And I might add, something like this should not be able to happen by accident.
I had the same thing a few hours before your post. I tapped the power button and it booted normally, nothing lost. Stock unrooted. Last edited: Apr 23, Joined Dec 5, Messages 1, Reaction score It won't reset or do anything to the phone.
You can battery pull as well. Odin mode is where you can go to flash new firmware, ROMs, through Odin. I haven't seen much for the Galaxy Nexus that would make the Odin mode super useful. Joined Jun 22, Messages 2 Reaction score 0. Just happened to me. Do not turn off the target!
